Top 6

Reason #6: Four days, all-digital, & on demand

A’21 is our first-ever, all-digital AIA Conference on Architecture. Because it’s virtual, everyone can attend! We’ll live stream the full program each day: Two keynotes, your choice of seminars, product demos, networking events, and more. If you miss a session, don’t worry. Keynotes and seminars will be available on-demand for 30 days following each event.

Reason #5: Products & materials showcase

Our world is changing, and so are the products and materials we’re using to build the future. At A’21, building product manufacturers that are leading our industry will introduce you to the newest products and materials to hit the market. Check the schedule for Learning Lounges and Live Product Demos happening each conference day from 10:30am through 12:30pm ET. Seminars on selling sustainability to your clients and building a case for high-performance design will help you use your newfound product knowledge to get clients on board, too.

Want to meet one-on-one with building product manufactures? Apply for VIBE @ A’21 during registration, and we’ll match you with key suppliers. Limited spots available!

Reason #4: One ticket = ALL your HSW & AIA LU credits for the year

With one $399 ticket, you can earn all your HSW and AIA LU credits for the year! Sessions are hosted live and then available on-demand for 30 days after each event, so there are plenty of opportunities to watch and learn.

Reason #3: Seminars featuring the best in architecture & design!

Beyond keynotes, A’21 has 29 seminars to bring you in-depth learning on the topics that are relevant to your practice now. Each conference day maps to a different theme, and we’ve invited some of the most creative, well-known architects, firms, and industry leaders to share proven insights, project takeaways, and new ways forward. Sessions include universal localism with Marlon Blackwell, FAIA, big data and smart cities with Debra Lam, capacity building with Rick Wade, blockchain technology with Alirexa Shojaei, and designing for the public with Sara Caples, AIA. There’s 20+ additional sessions in the schedule. View the full schedule.

Reason #2: A powerhouse lineup of keynotes

James Beard Award-winning chef José Andrés kicks off A’21 on June 17. He’ll talk with keynote host Roman Mars about how profitability leads to new possibilities and how to harness the power of our core values to design a better world, together. Don’t miss the closing keynote, which features four industry innovators on transforming the business of design: Deryll McKissack (McKissack & McKissack) Gregg Pasquarelli (SHoP Architects), Sheela Søgaard (BIG–Bjarke Ingels Group), and Kim Yao, AIA (Architecture Research Office).

On July 8, Antoine Bryant, Assoc. AIA (Moody Nolan), and Kim Yao, AIA (Architecture Research Office), will share how they sell sustainability to their clients, and Dr. Robert Bullard, the father of environmental justice, will address environmental racism, climate justice, smart growth, and regional equity.

On July 29, Shelley Halstead (Black Women Build – Baltimore), will discuss how she’s generating intergenerational wealth that empowers women and communities.
There are still three keynotes left to announce—more details coming soon!
